While I would love to do an extended trip on my own bike again; the crushing responsibilities of life are, for now, making this all but impossible. Next time. Maybe.
Another fly in and rent job is on the cards. So, trying to fit a bike trip around a jaunt to Hong Kong for the annual rugby sevens (I know, life's a bitch!). The ideal riding climates in the usual South-East Asian suspects don't quite align. But, Taiwan looks doable weather and time wise.
Assuming that Trumps latest shenanigans don't embolden China to invade Taiwan, reducing it to a pile of smouldering ash: a brief ride of about 10 days in April is the plan.
A paucity of options has led me to Taipei Scooter Rental. The reviews are good so I paid my £50 deposit to reserve my steed for the trip
A Suzuki V-Strom 650 looked the best bet from the limited options; I don't want or like scooters and small "big" bikes don't seem to be commonly available. So, new horizons! While I've been to Taiwan a couple of times before, never on a bike........road trip!!
